Impulse shopping from the car window
There are always people walking between cars and selling things at intersections or congested points where traffic slows down. It's a pretty nifty system because you can buy a lot of key things on the road, and even some not-so-commonplace items. The common items include starch balls (fufu, semivola, etc. which are mostly varieties of pounded yam), crackers, CDs/DVDs, plantains, cell phone accessories, sunglasses, juices and shelf milk. This morning there was a particularly good selection, including Merriam Webster dictionaries, fire extinguishers, and steering wheel covers.
